NPC was founded in 1975 as part of the Seiko Group, originally a manufacturer of timepieces. They started with Application-specific Standard Products, which were mainly used as the dedicated LSIs for communication equipment and audio systems. Since then, NPC has grown by producing IC products featuring mixed signal technology, covering both digital and analog to satisfy the demands of our customers.
Audio applications NPC offers CMOS analog and digital audio ICs based on their signal processing technology which they have developed since the earliest days of digital audio. NPC digital audio ICs include high-performance digital filters, DA converters, sample rate converters, and sound skip prevention ICs. For analog audio use, NPC offer electronic volume controls, headphone amplifiers with built-in electronic volume control, and surround sound ICs.
Video applications NPC's video buffer ICs consist of lowpass filters covering the video signal band, coupled with an output buffer. Cutoff frequency can be set externally, NPC video buffer ICs cover a wide range of video signals, including HD broadcasting.These ICs are used in a wide range of products such as DTV, PDP, DVD , projectors, digital cameras, and car navigation systems.
Crystal oscillator applications
NPC offers a wealth of crystal oscillator ICs used to satisfy a variety
of needs in electronic devices. NPC's many years of experience as well as
their original technologies and ancillary functions provide excellent
oscillation, start-up, stable oscillation, and output waveform.
Clock generators
NPC's diverse assortment of clock generators supports a wide range of applications, such as DVD
players and digital cameras. All these clock generators flexibly support your output frequency
requirements, and are easy to use, due to their low jitter characteristics and low current consumption.
Communication applications NPC offers FSK/DTMF receiver ICs and DTMF tone dialer ICs for communication applications using analog telephone circuits. NPC also offer general-purpose PLLs, PLLs for pagers, and POCSAG decoders.
Driver ICs NPC produces drivers for EL sheet and white LEDs used in digital cameras, mobile devices, and PDAs. NPC EL drivers can handle small and large EL sheets and are capable of efficient, stable operation. The white LED driver can light from two to four LEDs connected in series, lowering dispersion in luminance among the serial LEDs.
Power supply applications
NPC's battery chargers, are ICs designed for charging nickel-hydrogen and nickel-cadmium
batteries, ensuring safe, high-speed charging with just a few components. The power
supplies offered by NPC are setup type DC/DC converter ICs that provide high efficiency and
low power consumption through PFM control.
Watch applications
NPC offers a variety of analog clock and watch ICs featuring low power consumption.
They also offer real-time clocks that can use a wide range of supply voltages that lets
you employ them in a variety of applications.
